Sarah's Lemonade Stand for Kids

My husband and I decided to donate to the Children’s Hospital in 2011 while Alice 105.9, a local radio station, was doing their 36 hours for kids drive.

On the drives home from school my daughter, Sarah, would hear Slacker and Steve (the stations DJ’s) talk about the wonderful things peoples donations were doing. She was especially interested in the interviews with the children who were patients there.
A few days later, she came to me and asked what she could do to help. Touched by her sentiment, I told her that mom and dad had already pledged to give to the Children’s Hospital every month through the radio station. “But what can I do to help?” she contended. At a loss for words, I told her to think about what she could do to raise money on her own and offered to help with whatever idea she came up with.

A few days later, she came to me with a big smile and a big idea. She wanted to set up a lemonade stand to raise money!

So, here we are. This Saturday, May 5th Sarah will be doing her first lemonade stand where 50% of the proceeds will be going to children’s hospital.

If you're unable to visit Sarah, you can also contribute through this site. 100% of the donations from this website will be donated directly to the Children’s Hospital*. You can check back as often as you’d like to see Sarah’s progress.

Later on we will include photos of her lemonade stand, and her giving the money to the Children’s Hospital directly.
